I do a lot of hand work, ...
The photo shows an old record Handplane, that I am using for some hand work and offers a button to start a slide show for other examples of my hand work and hand tools. Just to mention it, because I always get the question why I am using other Handplanes than mine: I don't use my own planes because they need to go to customers as soon as I make them - so I can pay my bills.

with Handplanes and a large number of small tools, patterns, jigs and guides.

I don't own any Marcous except for three minis because customers need them almost before I can complete them, unfortunately. I currently make eight different models and each handplane I make is unique in that it will have small differences in the shape of the knobs, or the knurling type and so on, but the technical specifications remain constant. Of course, some customers require specific "tweaks" and I welcome this as it gives me licence to develop and get further inspiration. No two planes will be exactly the same other than basic dimensions - unless a customer requires this. I do number each plane - the number appears on the name plate - but I also hand scribe my name and the number usually under the knob base ring. Hopefully one day the volume of orders will increase to an extent which allows me to retain one of each type for my own use.

Working in this way seems a more pleasant challenge than using CNC machinery, although I may change my view if I ever justify the acquisition of any CNC machines.

I also use many machines, a few of which you see in this ...

Shop tour
The photo shows a total perspective of one half of my workshop. It also offers a button to start a slide show for all the other pictures of the workshop with the machinery, that I am using and I use a lot of machines but more traditional type routers, lathes, saws, jointers, etc. which will be show by clicking the picture

If I do get to use CNC methods in the future I think I would try to make sure that my Handplanes did not lose that unique hand made look ...

In the mean time all those machines are at my command and I enjoy using them ...
